President's Message Greetings everyone: It gives me great pleasure to be the President/CEO/Founder of the Moreno Valley Black Chamber of Commerce that is the award winning “Chamber of The Year” three times, 2006, 2008 and 2010. We do not take this lightly, we humbly respect the recognitions and will try to continue persevere much more while providing business and community services. The chamber of commerce was seven years old on February 16, 2011 and even though it only a few years old, we are still growing in membership with the turndown of economy. The chamber has provided ongoing 21st century tools with seminars/workshops that have enhanced businesses within the community that are both members and non-members. Please stay tuned to this website for calendar of events for future networking opportunities where you can attend mixers, grand openings, toastmasters, special meetings, green initiatives, conferences, business expo’s and other city events. The organizational chart consists of “Board of Directors, Corporate Partners Officers and Members. It has three separate nonprofit entities that are sisters to each other from eldest to the youngest. Moreno Valley Black Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation, founded November 1, 1986; The mission of this 501(c)3 organization is to be an economic and educational catalyst to the community through training workshops and seminars with emphases on youth and adults. Encouraging the enrichment of the community by preserving diversity in culture awareness and African American art, culture and history for the education and enlightenment of all. By Promoting culture awareness education through various types of literacy programs, the arts, cultural events, books, storytelling, films, and ethnic foods. Also, to be one stop progressive economic development catalyst to entrepreneurs, nonprofit and for profit organizations in the community by partnerships and educational programs. Moreno Valley Black Chamber of Commerce, founded February 16, 2004. The Moreno Valley Black Chamber of Commerce’s 501(c) 6 mission is to advance the general welfare and prosperity of Moreno Valley and its surrounding communities, by providing services to Black and other minority citizens and their businesses, so they shall prosper. MVBCC recognizes diversity as the essence of what makes each of us unique. The Chamber provides ways for you to network with like-minded business leaders and entrepreneurs. Specific objectives are:
The Moreno Valley Black of Chamber Commerce Toastmasters Club, founded June 12, 2007. The Moreno Valley Black Chamber of Commerce chartered its own Toastmasters Club in June 2007 at the request of MVBCC President/CEO Linda D. Wright. Since then, the club has achieved President's Distinguished and Select Distinguished awards! The mission of this 501(c) 3 organization is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth. Join us for exciting meetings and fellowship on the 1st and 3rd Mondays at the Stantec Building, 22690 Cactus Avenue in Moreno Valley. Our meetings begin promptly at 6:29 PM. Club membership is open to everyone! Please arrive early! Clubs meets every 1st and 3rd Monday each month. The Chamber also welcomes open membership to everyone but there is no membership for the Foundation. Any citizen interested in helping to develop his/her community is eligible to be a member of the Chamber. The dues are structure and designed to permit even the smallest business or individual to be a member. This means more money, more business, more jobs, and better living environment for everyone. The Chamber is financed through investments from membership, corporate sponsors and donations that have a vested interest in the area. This means “No Color Or Boundary Lines” for city, county, state, creed, color or national origin that will prevent you from becoming a member of this Chamber if you desire to become a member. We currently have 150 plus members that consist of Asian, African, Blacks, Caucasian, Canadian, Hispanic, Lebanese, etc. In the categories of auto companies, colleges, school district, utilities companies, retail stores, financial representatives, businesses and tax consultants, real estate, general contractors, professional communication service and executive protection and more. Volunteers and interns are always welcome to come and learn while they assist us in carry out our goals and obligations in completing tasks for regular operation and special events for community service.
